Parkway Brewery

Parkway Brewing Company brings a variety of extraordinary & complex beers to Salem.  They bring a rich family of beers worthy of the area's history.  Being located off of Greenway, this a great resting place during your long runs.  

Salem Red Sox

The Salem Red Sox are the minor league Advanced Class "A" for the Boston Red Sox.  Located in the heart of Salem, the Red Sox play at Haley Toyota Field at Salem Memorial Stadium and won the 2013 Advanced Class "A" league Championship.  

The Roanoke Star

The Roanoke Star is an iconic symbol & a must see tourist attraction.  The largest, man-made,illuminated star in the world, the 100-foot-tall star sits perched atop Mill Mountain and overlooks the Roanoke Valley.  Click here for the StarCam, a live-steam.

Salem Museum

While in town,  take some time to learn about the rich history of our great city.  Located off of Main Street near Longwood Park, the Salem Museum shows will show you everything from how our little city got started.

Mill Mountain Zoo

Located right next door to the Roanoke Star, is the Mill Mountain Zoo.  The zoo is home to over 170 animals and is part of of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums. Being part of the Species Survival Plan for endangered species,  Mill Mountain is most famous for the Red Panda.

Anthem Go Outside Festival


The Go Outside Festival, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, is an annual event to encourage healthy, active outside recreation. By combining the things outdoor enthusiasts love - camping, music, gear, races, and demos, and a beautiful outdoor setting – GO Fest is a celebration of everything outdoors. Roanoke GO Fest is a partnership between the nonprofit Roanoke Outside Foundation and Roanoke Parks and Recreation.
