Is there a charitable organization involved in the race?
Proceeds from the race benefit local charities.
Also, we have several water stations along the course that can be sponsored by local businesses. If a local business sponsors a water station, then part of the sponsorship goes back to a charity of their choice. In return, the charity must be able to work at a water station.
What drinks will be on the course?
All water stations will serve Gatorade at the first table(s) in WHITE cups, and water at the second table(s) in BLUE cups.
Can I wear my headphones on the course?
The use of headphones is strongly discouraged for your safety and the safety of other runners. Many of the roads will still be open to limited traffic. You should be aware of your surroundings at all times.
Are baby strollers allowed in the race?
For the safety of everyone, no baby strollers will be allowed in the race.
Are the courses USATF certified?
The Half Marathon and the 8K have been certified by USATF. Half Marathon certification: VA17026RT. 8K certification: VA17024RT. Note the 8K course is 82.6 feet longer in order to coincide the start and finish with the Half Marathon course. The kids race course was measured to USATF standards for 1.0 mile length, but not certified.
